Protect the Children's Eternal Rainforest during the virus shutdown
Our partners, the Monteverde Conservation League employs local residents as guards to protect the Children's Eternal Rainforest. Much of the funding for their salaries and equipment comes from tourist fees, gift shop purchases, and visitor donations. The virus shutdown means a complete loss of tourism revenue. This shutdown also leaves the forest more vulnerable to poaching of wildlife and plants, illegal logging, and forest fires.
To keep the incredible biodiversity of the Children's Eternal Rainforest protected during this shutdown, we are creating an emergency fund to be used to continue to employ the local guards and to provide for transportation and equipment costs.
We greatly appreciate your support during this challenging time.
